AMANDA LAURA NYE
Amanda is an experienced trademark attorney in domestic and international trademark law. She began her practice as an Examining Attorney in the US Patent and Trademark Office. Amanda established her private practice at Darby & Darby in New York City, and was then recruited to work in the Atlanta office of the global law firm of King & Spalding. Following a robust practice at King & Spalding, Amanda joined Neff Law Firm in 2011.
Amanda has extensive experience in counseling and opinion work related to the adoption and protection of trademarks. She has a deep practice in trademark prosecution, registration and maintenance in the U.S. and abroad.
Her practice includes strategic and tactical planning to manage, strengthen and maintain trademark portfolios around the world. In this context, she is well-versed in settlement negotiations and in the preparation of settlement agreements, consent agreements and co-existence agreements, to enhance trademark portfolios. Amanda advises on internet and domain name issues as well.
On the transactional side, Amanda is highly experienced in trademark due diligence, trademark assignment and assignment-back strategies, as well as trademark licensing. She handles this work in both domestic and international business transaction settings, including acquisitions and divestitures.
Amanda works with clients from a wide-range of industries, including cosmetics and beauty products, pharmaceuticals, publications, entertainment, toys, footwear and clothing, food and beverages, and online educational services.
Amanda holds the appointed position of Acquisitions Editor for New Matter, the scholarly publication for the IP Section of the California Lawyers Association. She is also an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Marin County Women Lawyers Association. She has spoken frequently on both domestic and international trademark matters.
Amanda is licensed to practice law in California, New York, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania and Georgia.
