Amanda Laura Nye

Amanda Laura Nye has been practicing domestic and international trademark law since 1983. She began her career as an Examining Attorney in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office where she practiced for three years. Then Amanda spent thirteen years at the leading IP boutique firm Darby & Darby PC in New York, until King & Spalding in Atlanta, the premier southeastern full-service international law firm invited her to join its trademark practice. In 2006 she opened her own practice and in 2011 joined Neff Law Firm as Trademark Counsel.

Amanda has extensive experience in trademark counseling and opinion work, as well as prosecution, registration and maintenance of trademarks in the U.S. and abroad. Amanda also counsels on the development and implementation of trademark and branding strategies to adopt, manage, strengthen and maintain a brand. She advises on internet and domain name issues as well.

Her national and international expertise includes managing, supervising and implementing global search and filing programs, assignment programs and licensing programs. She is highly experienced in trademark due diligence and analysis in domestic and international business transaction settings such as acquisitions and divestitures.

Amanda advises on trademark portfolio management in all of these settings.

Her experience includes substantial practice in ecommerce/online business as well as in the fields of banking, pharmaceuticals, publications, fashion, cosmetics and clothing, food and beverages, toys and retail.

She is a member of the Executive Committee of the IP Section of the California Bar. She is a frequent speaker in her area of expertise, as well as a meetings moderator and Chair. She has been an active member of the International Trademark Association for most of her career. She also practices with Convergent Law Group LLP

Amanda is licensed to practice law in California, New York, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania and Georgia.
